Glengarry - First Impression

A team of passionate Glengarry folk have been working on some ideas to redevelop the first view of the Glengarry area when you come down Yarrow Street. Below is the first draft of a redesign for the car park area to make it look nicer - it includes new plantings, doing up the bus shelter, putting in more rubbish bins and creating some green areas. Ideally we would love to get businesses into the empty shops as well, and are confident that will happen in time.

We are also looking at including art in the area such as murals on the buildings, painted lamp posts and sculptures.

We are gathering feedback and ideas from the community, including business owners and residents so if you would like to get involved please do. You could post to this blog or our Facebook page (Ree's Gifts & The Book Stop), call into Ree's Gifts & The Book Stop or come along to the next Glengarry Community Market & Car Boot Sale on Sat 29 Oct where we will be kicking off some fundraising with a sausage sizzle.
